Barry Morris Goldwater (1909-1998) was a five-term U.S. Senator from Arizona and the Republican nominee for President in 1964. Goldwater also served in World War II as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Forces and continued as a reserve officer in the newly formed Air Force after the war.
